Published By: The "Aeroplane" & General Publishing Co. Ltd.

St Mary's Books is proud to present this c.1919 edition of "Five Years in the Royal Flying Corps" by James McCudden, signed by C. G. Grey, "who edited these remains". Bound in blue cloth with navy lettering on the cover and spine, this hardback book contains i-xvi and 348 pages of text detailing McCudden's wartime aviation experiences and peppered with black and white photographs of the author and his peers. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to the first-hand account of a British WW1 ace, and his journey from an aircraft mechanic in 1913 to a highly decorated pilot and flight commander, including his strategies and thoughts on the future of aviation. This book was published posthumously after McCudden was tragically killed in a flying accident caused by engine failure. This particular copy is in good condition - there are some paint stains on the cover, the corners of the boards are slightly bumped and the cloth on the back is faded. However, the interior remains remarkably clean and readable. "Five Years in the Royal Flying Corps" signed by the editor, C. G. Grey, is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
