St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1933 first edition of "By Air", signed and inscribed by the author Sir Harry Brittain, describing the book as "an elite tribute to the Airmen of the Empire" and dedicating it to "Air Commodore Chamier, an ideal man for a real Empire job". Bound in black cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine, this hardback book contains i-xiv and 294 pages of text, peppered with black and white photographs. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to a record of the intense development and real achieements of civil aviation in Britain using primary sources and contemporary records. This copy is in good condition - there is some slight damage to the cloth on the spine, some minor offsetting on the front free endpaper, and it appears some of the images are missing and have been replaced with facsimilies. "By Air" is looking for a new home and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
