St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1928 first edition of "Modern Aircraft: A complete, practical treatise outlining clearly the elements of aeronautical engineering with special reference to simplified explanations of the theory of flight, aerodynamics and basic principles underlying the action of balloons and airplanes of all types" by Major Victor W. Page. Housed in its original white dustjacket with navy ink lettering, this hardback book is bound in navy cloth and contains i-xvi, 855pp. and 8 pages of advertisements to the back of the book. Inside, one finds valuable simplified instructions for aviation students, airplane mechanics, flying field engineering officers, and everyone interested in airplanes, supplemented by diagrams and black and white photographs. This book, and its original dustjacket, are in good condition. Though it is evident the dustjacket has suffered some considerable losses to the corners and edges in the past, it has been sensitively repaired. The book itself remains clean, bright, and readable, with only some offsetting and minor foxing on the front free endpaper to report. "Modern Aircraft" is looking for a new home and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
