Signed by the author and Douglas Bader, the writer of the foreword. This wonderful book contains the fascinating 500-year history of the parachute from da Vinci to the Apollo. This edition is bound in lovely red cloth with silver gilt lettering to the spine. It is illustrated with plates of black and white diagrams, drawings and photographs. Overall, the book is in very good condition. The pages all throughout are clean, bright and crisp. There is some skight rubbing away to the gilt lettering, but generally it remains bright. It is housed in its original dust jacket, which is also in very good condition, with only some very slight wear to the top edge. pp. 159.
