This is the first of a two volume set that covers the science of flight, with this volume focussing specifically on airships and kite balloons, the lighter-than-air craft. This lovely edition is bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. It is richly illustrated all throughout in black and white with photographs, diagrams and drawings, which compliment the already informative nature of the text. Overall, this edition is in very good condition. The pages throughout are clean, crisp and white, leaving the text clear and readable. pp. 168 + iv pages of advertisements.
