This is a first edition copy of the authors account of the 1924 journey to the arctic. This is bound in beautiful deep blue cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and a gilt crest on the front cover. It is richly illustrated with 40 pages of black and white photography. Overall, this book is in good condition. The pages remain bright and clean all throughout. There is no sign of foxing. There is some slight fading to the spine of the book. However, the gilt lettering, like the gilt crest, remains bright. This wonderful book makes up a part of the extensive aviation collection that St Mary's Books has recently acquired. pp. 287.
