This lovely hardback 1904 edition of "My Airships: The Story of My Life" by Alberto Santos-Dumont is bound in vibrant red cloth with black ink lettering and a charming black ink illustration of an airship on the cover. Inside, one finds i-viii and 328 pages of text peppered with stunning contemporary black and white photographs. Within the pages of this fascinatig book, the reader is treated to a chronicle of Alberto Santos-Dumont's life, from his childhood on a coffee plantation to his career as a celebrity aeronaut, infused with his lifelong love of innovation and aviation. This copy is in good condition - there is an inscription on the front free endpaper, some splitting at the hinges, and unfortunately the plate on page 101-102 is missing. Other than some minor scuffing and staning on the cover, this book remains remarkably clean, bright, and readable considering its age. "My Airships: The Story of My Life" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
