Edition: First Edition Second Impression
Published By: Faber and Faber Ltd.
St Mary's Books is proud to present this incredibly well-preserved 1954 first edition second impression of "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. Housed in its original pictorial dustjacket featuring a charming black ink illustration of the boys trekking through the jungle, this hardback book is bound in crimson cloth with white ink lettering to the spine, with 248 pages of text. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to this classic yet harrowing tale of unsupervised schoolboys and their various attempts to establish a civilised society before their descent into violence and chaos. This copy, and its original dustjacket, are in very good condition. Other than a small pen inscripton on the front free endpaper, the interior of the book appears remarkably bright, clean, and readable - seemingly untouched. The dustjacket has some very minor bumps to the edges but otherwise appears well-preserved. Finally, there is a slight lean to the spine. This 1954 first edition second impression of "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding is looking for a new home where it will be similarly cared for and appreciated.
