In this book the author tells the story of the life of British Air Minister, Lord Thomas of Cardington, through the form of a memoir and some letters. The author, Princess Marthe Bibisco of Romania, was a close friend of the eponymous figure, whom he met in 1915 and corresponded with regularly throughout his life, and she dedicated four of her other books to 'C.B.T.' This lovely early edition is bound in green cloth with red lettering on the spine and the front cover. This copy has an inscription to the front endpaper written in French, and dated Christmas 1937. It is illustrated with black and white photographs throughout. Overall, the book is in very good condition, with clean and bright pages all throughout. There is some wear to the extremities of the cover. pp. 237. "Lord Thomson of Cardington" forms part of the extensive selection of aviation titles available at St Mary's Books.
