I Knew a Lad and other War Poems

J. Laurence Pritchard

Edition: Limited Edition

Published By: Privately Printed

St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1945 privately printed limited edition copy of "I Knew a Lad and other War Poems" by J. Laurence Pritchard, containing a letter addressed to the author, the signature of Dr A. Barbour and a note from Captain Pritchard's secretary thanking Barbour for lunch. This paperback book with black ink lettering on the cover contains 35 pages of text, including a series of beautiful and moving poems from the Second World War era. Within the pages of this book, the reader embarks on the emotional journey of the war alongside its author and poet, a Captain and member of the Royal Aeronautical Society. The intimate nature of the poems highlighted in this work is made all the more intense by the scarcity of the copy itself, and the correspondence on the front free endpaper highlighting that the previous collector, Dr Bower, only came into contact with the book through personally meeting members of the Royal Aeronautical Society. This copy is in very good condition, with few notable blemishes and imperfections other than some minor staining on the cover, this copy has been remarkably well preserved given its age and rarity. "I Knew a Lad" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
