Written by a man who became a legend and received the Victoria Cross following the Second World War, running through this book is the story of Leonard Cheshire's search for the true religion, culminating in his conversion to Catholicism. This lovely book is bound in brown boards with gilt lettering and blue light blue detail to the spine. The frontispiece is illustrated with a black and white depiction of "The Holy Face from the Shroud of Turin". Overall, this book is in very good condition. The pages are bright and clean all throughout with no foxing. The dust jacket is in good condition, with some slight wear to the extremities and some slight fading to the dark blue on the front cover. pp. 179. "The Face of Victory" is a part of the extensive collection of aviation related books that have recently been acquired by St Mary's Books.
