This is an account, signed by the author, of how 80 British and Commonwealth airmen lost their lives in the famous oil town of Ploiesti between May and August 1944, based on the contemporary official reports and intelligence assessments and fleshed out by the recollections of many of the men who were there. The end papers are illustrated with maps of the surrounding area, and the book is also richly illustrated throughout with black and white photographs, diagrams and more maps. It is bound in black cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. Overall this book is in near fine condition. The pages throughout are bright white and undamaged. The dust jacket is in very good condition, with minimal bookshelf wear to the spine. pp. 383. "Through Darkness to Light" is part of the extensive aviation collection available at St Marys Books.
