Edition: Third Edition, Third Impression
Published By: Oxford University Press
St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1946 third edition, third impression of "Northanger Abbey and Persuasion" by Jane Austen, published by Oxford University Press and forming volume V of their "The Novels of Jane Austen" set. Bound in green cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine, this hardback book contains i-xiii and 564 pages of text. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to two of Jane Austen's classic tales. Northanger Abbey tells the story of Catherine Morland, an inexperienced and naieve country girl who enjoys a social season in Bath. Persuasion, on the other hand, follows the story of Anne Elliot, a 27 year old woman who thought she had seen love pass her by. These two beloved stories are supplemented by black and white photographs and other illustrations, helping to ground the reader with some context. This copy is in good condition - the cloth on the spine has faded due to sun damage and there is some foxing to the front free endpapers and prelims - however the text is otherwise bright, clean and readable with few other notable imperfections. "Northanger Abbey and Persuasion" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any collector.
