The New Art of Flying

Waldemar Kaempffert

Edition: First Edition

Published By: Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons, Ltd.

St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1911 first edition of "The New Art of Flying" by Waldemar Kaempffert. Bound in burgundy cloth with gold gilt lettering to the cover and spine, this hardback book contains i-xvii and 291 pages of text. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to an account of the "Conquest of the Air" from the early days of flying, complete with contemporary black and white photographs, diagrams and descriptions of the mechanisms of various flying machines. This copy is in good condition - the boards are slightly scuffed, there is an inscription and some offsetting to the free endpaper, and there is some splitting at the hinges. However, the interior pages remain remarkably bright, clean and readable for a copy of this age and rarity. "The New Art of Flying" is looking for a new home and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
