St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1920 edition of "Report on the Materials of Construction Used in Aircraft and Aircraft Engines" by Lt.-Col. C. F. Jenkin, Professor of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford and late Director of the Materials Section of the Technical Department of the Aircraft Production Department of the Ministry of Munitions. Bound in olive green cloth with black ink lettering on the cover and spine, this hardback book contains 162 pages of text, peppered with black and white photographs, graphs, diagrams and more, highlighting the properties of various materials of construction used within aircraft. This copy is in good condition - though the boards are slightly stained and scuffed, there is a small inscription, some offsetting, and two paste-downs on the free endpaper (one, an ex-libris paste-down from the Royal Naval College Library, and the other a "With the Compliments of Professor Jenkin" paste-down), and the hinges are weak - however, the interior pages remain bright, clean, readable and well-preserved. This report is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
