Winged Victory

V. M. Yeates

Edition: Reissue

Published By: Jonathan Cape

This lovely hardback 1961 reissue of "Winged Victory" by V. M. Yeates is housed in its original pictorial dustjacket depicting two aeroplanes in flight. Handsomely bound in blue cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine, this book contains 456 pages of text. Within the pages of this book, the reader finds a real, true, and faithful recounting of the experience of aerial combat in the Great War, the fear involved in operating those early biplanes, and the overall futility of war. This edition is in good condition. Though the original dustjacket has been well preserved and can be described as very good, the book itself contains a "Please Return" stamp on the title page, as well as a paste-down obituary for Yeates, and a list of the Sopwith Camels he flew on the rear free endpaper. However, this copy remains otherwise well-preserved, with few other notable blemishes or imperfections. "Winged Victory" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
