St Mary's Books is incredibly proud to present this extensive set of "The Aeroplane" Magazine, stretching from the first edition in 1911 up to 1990. Within this set, one finds a complete run of the weekly journal for the years 1911 up until it was closed down in late 1968, as well as issues from its successor, "Aeroplane Monthly", from its founding in 1973 up until 1990. Many of these editions are handsomely bound in navy, black, red or green cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine, however many of the editions are not bound and remain in their original paperback form, organised into folders by year. These fascinating editions provide a chronicle of early aviation history from the magazine that rivalled "Flight", with weekly editions complete with contemporary photographs, illustrations, diagrams, and of course articles detailing the latest developments in aviation. After the magazine closed down in 1968, it was suceeded by "Aeroplane Monthly", founded by Richard T. Riding, the son of E. J. Riding, photographer for "The Aeroplane". These copies are in very good condition, with few notable blemishes or imperfections, they remain clean, readable, and well-kept. This extensive set of "The Aeroplane" and "Aeroplane Monthly" magazines is looking for a new home and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast looking to level up their collection.
