St Mary's Books is proud to present this circa 1889 edition of "Les Ballons et Leur Emploi a la Guerre" by G. Espitallier. Bound in quarter bright red cloth with red marbled boards, a black leather title band and gold gilt lettering to the spine, this hardback book contains 95 pages of text. Inside, one finds stunning black ink etchings and diagrams and French Language text illustrating the potential and contemporary usages of balloons in warfare. This copy is in very good condition, the later binding has been well-preserved with few notable blemishes or imperfections. Inside, there is some foxing to the pages, an ex-libris paste down on the front free endpaper, and the tissue guard for the frontispiece is significantly damaged. However, the copy remains otherwise well-preserved considering its age and rarity. "Les Ballons et Leur Emploi a la Guerre" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
