Cabbages and Kings

O. Henry

Edition: Early Edition

Published By: Eveleigh Nash

St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1912 early edition of "Cabbages and Kings" by O. Henry, or William Sydney Porter. Bound in bright red cloth with intricate blind tooled borders, this hardback book features bright gold gilt lettering to its cover and spine. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to 344 pages of short stories which at first appear to have few connecting threads, but ultimately come together to form an overarching narrative defined by the intimate ways its themes overlap. This celebrated piece of literature, inspired by the people and situations the author encountered in Honduras in the 1890s, is in very good condition. There is a small stain to the cover, an inscription and a small bookseller paste-down on the front free endpaper, and the pages are slightly yellowed, however the book nevertheless remains a well-preserved example. "Cabbages and Kings" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any literature lover.
