St Mary's Books is proud to present this circa 1918 edition of "Flying Boats" produced by the Supermarine Aviation Works Limited. Bound in grey paper with a black, blue, and grey ink graphic logo on the cover, this paperback edition contains several loose leaf advertisements for the flying boat, followed by 39 pages on "Supermarine Flying Boats and Seaplanes" and a Description and Specification of the Supermarine Four-Seater Channel Type Flying Boat. Peppered with black and white photographs and black ink diagrams, none of the pages within this volume are bound in, and they are all loosely contained within the binding. Though Supermarine is best known for the Spitfire, the company built its early reputation as a pioneer of flying boats, designed by R. J. Mitchell, they served as maritime patrol in the war, and their efforts are here highlighted in this promotional brochure. The collected items within this set are in very good condition, with few notable blemishes or imperfections. "Flying Boats" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
