St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1994 first edition of "WASPS: Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II" signed by the author, Vera S. Williams, and signed by Joan R. L. Ken, who also served in World War II. Housed in its original pictorial dustjacket featuring a photograph of four wasps in their flying gear, this hardback book is bound in dark blue cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine. Inside, one finds 156 pages of text peppered with photographs, diagrams, illustrations and more. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to the inspirational story of the first women to fly for the US military, who ferried planes from factories to airfields, test-flew repaired aircraft, and towed gunnery targets. This copy, and its original dustjacket, are in very good condition and other than some minor bumping along the bottom edge of the book, this copy appears well-preserved with bright, clean and readable interior pages. "WASPS" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
