Edition: First Edition
Illustrated By: Dickhart

St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1956 first edition of "The Sacrifice" by Georges Simenon. Housed in its original dustjacket illustrated by Dickhart featuring a harrowing illustration of a man hanging on to an edge by his fingertips set against a red background, this hardback book is bound in navy cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine. Inside, one finds 254 pages of text, including both "Mr. Hire's Engagement" and "Young Cardinaud". This copy is in good condition - it's original dustjacket remains well-preserved with only some minor bumps to the corners and some foxing to the top edge of the front and the bottom edge of the book. One finds some damage on the bottom edge of the front of the book itself, however the interior pages remain remarkably clean, bright, and readable. "The Sacrifice" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any lover of literature.
