St Mary's Books is proud to present this scarce 1908 first edition of "Rapport sur le Premier Salon de Aeronautique", published by the Librarie des Sciences Aeronautiques under the direction of M. Gustave Rives, the Chairman of the Organising Committee. Bound in navy buckram with gold gilt lettering to the spine, this paperback edition is bound in to a hardback binding, featuring "The Library of Congress" free endpaper. Inside, one finds 91 pages of French text, followed by 2 pages of bibliography and 8 pages of advertisements to the back of the book. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to a detailed report of the first aviation show, complete with diagrams of the aeroplanes featured, and contemporary black and white photographs. This rare book is in very good condition - though there is some minor bumping to the corners, a "Surplus Library of Congress Duplicate" stamp on the title page indicating this book was released for sale, and some pencil inscriptions on the half-title page - the copy remains otherwise remarkably clean and readable. "Rapport sur le Premier Salon de l'Aeronautique" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
