St Mary's Books are incredibly proud to present this 1997 reprint of the Folio Society edition of J. R. R. Tolkien's, "The Hobbit, Or There and Back Again". Housed in a rich brown slipcase, this hardback book is bound in full vegetable parchment blocked with a swirling design by Francis Moseley, with an imposing illustration of Smaug on the cover. Inside, past the maps of Middle Earth on the free endpaper, one finds 245 pages of text brought to life by Eric Fraser's enchanting illustrations. Within the pages of this book, the reader is treated to the classic tale of Bilbo Baggins, an unimaginative Hobbit who is invited on a quest to reclaim the Dwarves' stolen kingdom, and in so doing re-discovers his own sense of adventure. This copy is in very good condition - though the corners are slightly bumped, and the spine is slightly faded, the interior remains bright, clean and readable. "The Hobbit" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any lover of this fantastic story.
