St Mary's Books are proud to present this 2002 Second Printing of the Folio Society's "Great Stories of Crime and Detection", selected by Tim Heald and illustrated by Nick Hardcastle. Housed in a dark blue slipcase with the names of famous authors in gold gilt along one side, these hardback books are bound in quarter dark blue cloth blocked with gold gilt lettering in a whimsical design by Frances Button, and with paper sides printed with gloomy designs by Nick Hardcastle. This chronological set follows crime and detection novels from Vol. 1, "Beginnings to 1920", to "The Twenties and Thirties", "The Forties and Fifties", and finally "The Sixties to the Present". This set is in very good condition, with few notable blemishes or imperfections other than some light fading and some minor wear to the cloth spines, and some minor foxing to the edges, they remain bright and clean copies. "Great Stories of Crime and Detection" are looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any mystery lover.
