Auden, William Shakespeare, Dorothy Parker, Noël Coward, and many, many more. Illustrations by the talented Posy Simmonds are scattered throughout, and only contribute to the hilarity of the verses next to them and Leeson's introduction (pp.xi-xv) outlines the comic tradition in literature.
