St Mary's Books is proud to present this first edition of Leslie Hunt's seminal Twenty-One Squadrons - a detailed history of the nations 'weekend squadrons' from 1925 until their disbandment in 1957, explaining how their contributions helped Great Britain in most theatres of war. Hunt includes over 200 archive photographs, which, alongside the text, make this work incredibly informative and thorough. A foreword by Sir Christopher Foxley-Norris (pp.7-8) and introduction and acknowledgements by the author (pp.9-15) precede the text. The book is bound in a blue cloth, the title, author's name and emblem of the publishing house are printed in gilt lettering on the spine. There is some fading along the top edge of the front cover and the spine is bumped slightly on the ends. This copy comes in its original dust-jacket, it is white and printed with the emblems of several squadrons beneath the title and author's name, which are in black and blue lettering. On both endsheets several images of various planes and squadrons have been pasted. pp.431.
